When I am traveling in the Black Hills of South Dakota, I always make it a point to visit Sylvan Lake. I had driven past a pull-over near Sylvan’s entrance several times. One evening at sunset, I decided to stop and have a look. Consequently, I hiked in a little way and found this scene. A doe watched from behind a tree as I set up and took this photograph.
